Kansas City continued its 2016-17 season with the ORIGINKC NEW WORKS FESTIVAL. Included in this festival was a reading of Christopher Chen’s translation of Antony and Cleopatra, directed by Marissa Wolf. Through Chen’s nuanced language, this translation interprets Shakespeare’s classic story through a contemporary framework, featuring Cleopatra as the powerhouse heroine who drives the play.
