Caridad Svich (she/they) is a 2024 Guggenheim Foundation Fellow in Drama and Performance Art. Other honours and recognitions include an Obie for Lifetime Achievement, an Edgerton Foundation New Play Award, Flora Roberts Award from the Dramatists Guild, American Theatre Critics Association Primus Prize, and Harvard/Radcliffe Institute Fellowship. Plays include 12 OPHELIAS, IPHIGENIA CRASH LAND FALLS…, RED BIKE and THE HOUSE OF THE SPIRITS (based on Isabel Allende’s novel). Some of their translations are collected in FEDERICO GARCIA LORCA: IMPOSSIBLE THEATRE (Smith & Kraus). Forthcoming from Methuen Drama are a collection of her Shakespeare-inspired plays and an anthology on Transmedia Theatre.
