Location: Fully Remote

Compensation: $42 per hour, 30 hours per week

About Play On Shakespeare

Play On Shakespeare is a non-profit company promoting and creating contemporary modern English translations of Shakespeare’s plays. Play On partners with artists and organizations across the globe to deliver and advocate for these translations through theatrical productions, podcasts, publications, and film.

Position Description

Play On Shakespeare’s Social Media Manager is a core member of the marketing team responsible for telling our brand story, creating and curating brand content, facilitating two way communication with our audience, capturing testimonials, and driving our social media strategy. This role is charged with maintaining the Company’s social media platforms, tracking analytics, and creating content and strategy for online audience development and growth. Serving as a driver of engagement and creativity for the marketing team, the role ensures the Company’s online presence is relevant, current to ongoing social media changes, and growing the knowledge and engagement surrounding Play On Shakespeare.

The Basics

Preferred experience includes: 

  • 3-5 years experience managing social media within the theater space or in a marketing agency environment, including content generation, social posting, ad development, and social inbox and comment management experience 
  • 1-3 years experience creating social media strategies
  • 1-3 years social advertising experience
  • Previous customer service, client management, or community management experience

Preferred Knowledge and experience with: 

  • Google Platform Services
  • Social platforms including: Facebook, Instagram, Meta Business Suite, YouTube, and Bluesky
  • Marketing software and analytics tools
  • Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Monday.com
  • Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Airtable Databases

INTERVIEW PROCESS TIMELINE

Interviewees will be compensated for their time spent meeting with Play On Shakespeare. For all interviews, interviewees will receive $68 – equivalent to one full day at the federal per diem rate for Ashland, OR. Candidates invited to an in-person interview will have their travel and housing provided, per diem for meals and essentials provided, and will be compensated for their time.

The aspirational timeline is as follows:

January 10, 2025 - Application closes

January 13–17 - Candidate review

January 23–29 - First interviews

February 1–7 - Second interviews

TBD - Potential in-person interviews: location to be determined
