How to Apply for Funding
We believe in building deep partnerships and an application for funding is a way to begin that relationship. We know that resources and time are limited, and we aim to keep our funding process simple and concise.
To apply for funding please submit a simple proposal that includes the following:
- Production company information and introduction
- The translation you are interested in producing and whether you’ve secured the rights or need help doing so.
- Why producing a translation is exciting to your company.
- Production dates, location, and any other relevant details.
- Creative team information.
- Funding request amount.
- A project budget outlining the line items that will receive support from Play On Shakespeare production support and how much.
We will review these proposals through the lens of our mission of providing access to Shakespeare.

Production Workshops
Our sponsored and facilitated workshops engage The Play On Method to get you to Shakespeare’s story faster, and to leverage the playwright as part of the production process.
Together we’ll examine the facts of the play—beat-by-beat, measure by measure—providing a deep analysis of Shakespeare’s text to support your unique production’s needs. These workshops range from 1-day to 5-days and build deep alignment and understanding of the play.
