Prague Shakespeare Company presents Two Gentlemen of Verona & King John by William Shakespeare in modern verse translation.
In Two Gentlemen of Verona, Valentine and Proteus are best friends. That is, until they meet Silvia, and their lifelong friendship is put in serious jeopardy. Can they all find their happily-ever-after? A love triangle, a forest, and disguises – The Two Gentlemen of Verona has it all. Shakespeare’s gloriously silly story of love, friendship and growing up bursts onto the stage of The Estates Theater in a new 85-minute edit that’s the perfect introduction to Shakespeare for families.
In King John, A mad world of mad kings, teetering on the brink of disaster. Richard the Lionheart is dead. His brother John is King of England. Threatened from all sides by Europe, the English noblemen and even his own family, King John will stop at nothing to keep hold of his crown. Shakespeare’s rarely performed tale of a nation in turmoil vibrates with modern resonance in this vivid new production.
