Salwa Meghjee

Salwa Meghjee is a playwright, theater producer, and arts administrator. Her work tries to illuminate and soothe the big feelings we all experience and struggle to explain. She’s developed work with her production company Pizza Party Press, as well as Trove, Mudlark Theater, 24 Hour Plays: Nationals, Sanguine Theatre Company, The New Victory Theater, UC Berkeley, The Golden Theatre Company, Soho Rep, National Queer Theater, and Playwrights’ Center. Her plays include U-Haul Mesbians (Syrup and Candy New Play Reading Series), Ender’s Gay (National Queer Theater’s Cherry Picked Festival), Never Forget That Jasper Cullen Was a Confederate Soldier (24 Hour Plays: Nationals) and, written with her twin sister Samah, The Mysterious Mystery of the Lost Letters (Brooklyn Publishers). Salwa has previously held roles at New York Theatre Workshop, Page 73, The Playwrights Realm, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and Playwrights Foundation. She is currently in the playwriting program at Juilliard, and holds a BA from UC Berkeley and an MFA from Northwestern.
